Security

WEDIA WMS manages a role for each user by site. Granular privileges can be achieved using the security rule engine (web interface). Pages are SSL compatible. We provide an authentication mechanism (open and easily configurable). It is possible to authenticate through LDAP or through the WEDIA WMS standard mechanism (web administration interface - no line code needed). You can also add connectors to externalize authentication systems. Possibility to use a CAS Server (SSO).

WEDIA WMS implements the Log4J component tracking (standard java log system) and can log any technical or functionnal events (login history, change log contents ,...). Logs are accessible through the web administration interface. Furthermore, logs level can be change dynamically. 

A Captcha plugin is available (for example for the front comment function). 

Online Administration

WEDIA WMS offers web interfaces for access to administrative tools and includes all tools that allow configuration and monitoring.

The main configuration tools are : security, backup&restore, event viewers,  install wizard, authentication, JSP cache, search, internationalization, scheduler, plugin, URL rewriting, website publications (HTML publication in folders), ...

The main monitoring tools are : activity (report the current activity on this environment), timer (monitor the server requests - ideal for tracking one template with performance problem), event viewer, locks, performance analysis (monitor the performance of internal pages), verification (environment check page), ...

All the tools are build to simplify configuration and hosting.

Notifications system can be send by emails.

Workflow & Cycle life & Version

WEDIA WMS provides a existing but customizable workflow solution (state-based model) to adapt to existing business rules. Each content type can get a different workflow. Workflow can be short (Ex: Draft/On Line) and allow immediate publication or include several validation stages (Ex: Draft / Validation 1/… / Online / Archive). Depending on the content type and on the contributor’s privilege, some workflow stage can be bypassed.

Asset

WEDIA WMS proposes a multimedia gallery. This is a very nice plugin.

Webmasters can create folders and subfolders for categorise elements. The writers can add or get items from different types (video, sound, flash, pdf, image,...). Each item type has a number of properties (credit, copyright, alt, archive date,...). Multimedia items can be shared across sites.

The gallery has a mass import functionnality. All uploaded files are stored in file system.

Internal links

WEDIA WMS allows to link content between them. For example, one article can be linked with one slideshow, one news, one dynamic form, one poll and three categories. The plugin dedicated to internal links gives you the opportunity to select internal contents through a content browser. It also implements link checking during the publication process for all data entries that are defined as links (new version, SEO update, archive,...).

Dynamic Forms

WEDIA WMS allows to manage dynamics forms. For example, if you want to invite customers or prospects to an event, simply add an editorial page with your form.

Scheduling

WEDIA WMS integrates a scheduler.

The scheduler allows content to be automatically published or archived from a site (based on the publication date and archiving date). You can also start jobs for special needs (for exemple send e-mail new listings or update data with external sources).

Search

WEDIA WMS integrates Lucene, the standard full-featured text search engine library.Searching can be handled by another solution. Note there is an including Ajax API for establishing early predictive research.

Audience web tools

WEDIA WMS can be integrated with any web analytics solution. By default, we provides standard integration by plugin with Google Analytics. It is very easy to configure.

Design

Any web graphics and site design can be integrated with WEDIA WMS.

WEDIA WMS respects the way to build "professional" web site : storyboard, web design and graphic variation with PSD for instance, functional and technical specification templates based on WEDIA WMS standard, development and validation HTML pages, back-office configuration, JSP templates integration. Can work with XP method too for the design.

Supports CSS layout, XHTML, WAI compliance. Possible to integrate CSS tableless and full table (for newsletters templates).

WEDIA WMS adopts a structure on the DIV top level in order to ease development and maintenance of the site.
