Preview

WEDIA WMS provides the opportunity to browse all pages in 2 "preview" mode:
- global preview : shows all contents in their latest version.
- date preview : shows site as it will be at the specified date (working with the automatic publication module)

A contributor can see easily the impact from each new content. For example, a writer added a new sport article. With the preview, he will be able to verify that it appears well on the "latest news" zone in the homepage, in the sport page and in the article detail page.

The preview site can allow to validate pages by marketing or commercial management : just need a login/passord for access to the global preview.

The preview gives access to very nice tools : the editing site and the animation pages by drag and drop.

Editing site

A webmaster can edit contents and blocks directly from the preview site. For example, just a simple right click on one block and you can edit it. It's very useful when you want to find your editorial content by its localisation in the site.

This method is a complementary way to find your contents. With the standard back office, you can access contents by sortable contents list, full text search, search by category, bookmarking and personalized dashboard with blocks like "my last draft articles", "my last published news",...

Animation pages by drag and drop

WEDIA WMS pages could be set up only by animation blocks like a typical press website or a portal with "portlets". These page are really flexible. Of course, other pages may just contain a few animation blocks in the left or right column (like standard editorial pages).

WEDIA WMS provides by default a animation blocks library ready to use. You can find the classic blocks like ads, contents list by criteria, text with links, survey,... There is also a standard wizzard to create blocks with contents filtered. And it is really easy to add new types of blocks. 1 block is a little JSP template.

The animation page allows by drag and drop :
- find an existing animation block and drag and drop it in page
- create a new animation block and drag and drop it in page
- sort and remove animation blocks in page

The webmaster can work with 1, 2 or N columns or rows as he wants (if of course his graphical chart allows this). An inheritance system is available : if page has no blocks defined, WEDIA WMS shows automaticly first parent page blocks.

In the case of a multi language site, useful features can help you to easily manage pages with blocks :
- auto detection of blocks already translated into site different languages directly in the preview page.
- attempt to rebuild the page in a new language with the blocks already translated and already positioned on the page (based on original language page). After, this new translated page can be modified for local needs.
- synchronisation of blocks between two pages in different languages

WYSIWYG Editor

Wysiwyg formatting is accessible using a rich text editor (FCKeditor, in latest version). Copy/paste from MS Word, insert of images, creation of links (both internal and external), swf files insert, template html management, ...are one of the many functions offered within the editor. HTML options can be defined by role. 

The multimedia gallery and the content explorer for internal links are available directly in editor.

Multi categorization / tag

WEDIA WMS has the ability to easily manage contents with categorization tree. These categories are traditionally managed by webmasters.

A back office offers a content explorer plugin : show folders and subfolders, display all contents by categories.

WEDIA WMS allows to classify each content in several dimensions. For example, one article can be classified in differents categories (without duplication of content) and can be linked with 2 tags for the tag clouds.

Profiling

WEDIA WMS embeds a rules engine that allows you to filter contents based on profile visitor : push content, filter content, privilege member content for loyalty programs,...

It is therefore possible to easily create a personalized space in order to target advertising content or to perform some A / B testing for a specific population.

The user profile is available to inject specific needs.

SEO

WEDIA WMS provides all the tools for search engine optimization :
- title, description and keywords per page
- automatic site map generation
- multimedia alternatives (image, flash, video, ...)
- friendly URLs
- strategy for tags like H1, H2, ...(by exemple : automatically assigning of content title in H1 tag)

Friendly URLs

WEDIA WMS generates easily friendly URLs for search engine. A friendly URL can be created automaticly using any attribute of the content (ex: name, title). It can be also assigned manually by writer or SEO manager. For multi language site, the url can be created in the language of the page. You can change your friendly URL without "page not found" risk ! WEDIA WMS allows to change friendly URLs for SEO optimizing without "404" risk.

The internal URL Rewriting Engine allows to replace your web server rewrite module (Apache ou Microsoft IIS) : it allows you to create multiple entry points for SEO optimization. Compared to traditional tools of rewriting URL, WEDIA WMS can handle incoming URLs but also the outgoing URLs ! All links to one specific page with rewritten URL will be wrote with the friendly URL.

Interface Localization

WEDIA WMS provides a web administration interface that allows you to easily manage multi-language labels in pages front office (RessourcesBundle value). You can translate labels into several languages and detect easily missing translations.

Files Upload

Multipart form data requests are processed by WEDIA WMS engine. It eases developers work, not having to handle complex stream manipulation in their code.

WEDIA WMS proposes a standard webdav client in the zone of files and images for the mass upload. The user access can be controled by authentification and rules.
